Wedding Receptions, Civil Marriage & Civil Partnership Ceremonies:

Trafalgar Park enjoys an excellent reputation as a superior venue at which to hold a wedding reception, civil marriage ceremony or civil partnership ceremony.

The house & grounds provide the most stunning setting for such an important occasion. Everything is arranged to suit the requirements of the couple and their guests – and the house is available exclusively for the event.

Trafalgar Park is a private home and we only hold 15-20 receptions per year and each event is planned by the host couple to suit their own plan and ideas. We, of course, are on hand to give help and advice on these arrangements.

Trafalgar Park is happy to recommend suppliers. We have a list of caterers, wine merchants, florists, photographers, musicians etc – and, if appropriate, marquee firms. We do not accept commissions from these contractors and nor do we make a ‘corkage’ charge. We are happy to work with your own nominated suppliers - although subject to our approval please!

Ceremonies are usually held in the magnificent Baroque Hall with a capacity of 120 guests. For smaller numbers either the Saloon (50 people) or the Cipriani Room ( 15 people ) and can be used instead.

The newly restored south wing dining room can seat about 80 people. A second adjoining room, can be used for a further 50 people – so a maximum capacity for a seated meal of 130 within the house. Larger parties can be accommodated in a marquee adjacent to the house.

And, of course, there is the Billiard Room for a party and disco following the more formal part of your day.

There are many photographic scenes and backdrops for your photographer to utilize to create a really memorable album.

Trafalgar Park will make available a bedroom suite for changing and preparation on the day although we do not accommodate guests overnight. There are many local guest houses and small hotels which we can recommend and ample taxi facilities to and from these locations to Trafalgar Park.

Typically, the planning of an event will assume several pre-arranged visits to the house. You will have exclusive use, during office hours, of the defined rooms the day prior to the occasion for setting up. On the day itself the bridal party and their contractors will have use of the house for the whole day up to the agreed end timing – and then some clearing up the next day! For this we charge a flat venue hire fee at around £4500. There is usually no extra charge for days erecting and dismantling a marquee, and unlike some other venues we make no addtional fee for holding your civil ceremony here.

We are delighted to facilitate mid-week weddings or receptions at a reduced rate in the region of £2,000 for hire of the house.
